Our experiences are designed to be part of your stay - to let you experience our way of life and spend time in the nature and Koli National Park.
On this page you'll find our ready-made stays, where time outdoors, local guiding and everyday moments are brought together. The idea is simple: to experience Koli at a natural pace, together with your local host.
Both packages are available all year round. Each season offers something different: snowy winter forests, bright summer nights, colorful autumn hills or the quiet awakening of spring.

You are invited to spend couple of days in Koli to experience this place with a local in an unhurried way.
On the walk the landscape opens up through the stories it carries by drawing attention to details and layers you might otherwise pass by. This programs also leaves time for your own wanderings.

You're invited to stay a little longer in Koli and experience the place more like a local, together with your host as your guide.
Seasonal Nature Experience is where everyday outdoor life here comes to focus - spending time in the forest or by the lake as we do ourselves, shaped by the season and the day. The experience may include snowshoeing, skiing or ice fishing in winter, foraging, sailing or long summer evenings by the lake in the warmer seasons.
With more time the experience deepens and between the shared moments there is time to wander.

Winter is the time of quiet landscapes and softened contours. Snow calms the forest and creates ideal conditions for snowshoeing in peaceful surroundings, searching for animal tracks in fresh snow, or walking to frozen waterfalls and ice formations. When conditions allow, the frozen lake offers possibilities for skating, skiing or even cycling. Light plays a special role in winter, when sunrise and sunset are easily reached and experienced as quiet transitions, carrying a distinct atmosphere

Spring brings gradual change and closer observation. Walks focus on the awakening forest and meadows, early growth and small details along the trails. Early flowers appear, including Daphne mezereum, whose delicate pink blooms feel like a brief, northern version of hanami. There may also be opportunities to identify and gather wild herbs, some of which can be tasted or used during the day, depending on the season and conditions.

Summer offers variety and flexibility. Activities may include berry or mushroom foraging, swimming in open water, cycling on gravel roads, or learning traditional skills such as making a vasta, a traditional Finnish whisk made from birch branches, for the sauna. Long daylight hours allow unhurried movement and, if wished, outings during the light summer nights.

Autumn is a season of contrast and clarity. Colors deepen as the forest prepares for winter, and cooler air makes walking and cycling especially pleasant. Autumn outings may include visiting points of interest or gathering late-season mushrooms. As evenings grow darker, the sky opens for stargazing and, on lucky nights, the northern lights.

The wool sock walk is a winter experience, available during winter season when snow softens the forest.
On a wool sock walk, you’ll experience the forest through all your senses. Moving in soft wool socks makes each step gentle and quiet, opening your attention to the surrounding nature.
Although this walk can be enjoyed during the day, it is at its most enchanting around sunset and into the blue hour. Soft lanterns accompany us, giving just enough light to guide the way while leaving space for silence, darkness and mystery.
Wool sock walk lasts about 1 - 1,5 hrs and may be added to your stay with us.
